We Are Here to Support You

March 17th, 2020

We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.” – Joseph Campbell

To the narcolepsy community,

These are trying times with the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We want you to know that we at Narcolepsy Network are here working from home and are ready to assist anyone to the extent possible. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this pandemic. Please reach out to us and we will do everything we can to offer our support and put you in touch with agencies and/or people that may be able to help.

Please continue to check our Facebook page and weekly Network News emails for the most up-to-date information.

A number of people have asked, “are people with narcolepsy (or IH) at higher risk from COVID-19?” The current answer (per our Medical Advisory Board) is that the risk should not be higher than in normal people of an equivalent age and general health.

At this time, please do not hold in-person support group meetings until further notice. We will help support group leaders set up virtual meetings if they choose. If you haven’t already, join our closed Facebook support group page. You’ll need to answer a few basic questions and agree to the page’s rules to join.

See the guidelines from the CDC about social distancing and general hygiene practices. We compiled a list of things that you can do from home that may help in these difficult times. If you have other links to share, email us, or send us a message on social media.

If you have concerns or questions, email us at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Eveline Honig
