Suddenly Sleepy Saturday 2025

Help Raise Awareness for Narcolepsy this Suddenly Sleepy Saturday!

Suddenly Sleepy Saturday (SSS) is March 8, 2025. Narcolepsy Network encourages community members to request a proclamation from your state and/or municipal governments recognizing Suddenly Sleepy Saturday as a day for Narcolepsy awareness. Let your voice be heard.

Proclamations are requested through your governor, mayor, and/or town manager’s office. Some offices respond very quickly, while others require 2+ months to process requests, so don’t delay in submitting your request! Please note that proclamations must be requested each year, so if you received a proclamation in 2024, you will need to make another request for 2025.

How to Proceed with Requesting your Proclamation:

Step 1: Use this document to locate proclamation request guidelines for your state and/or municipality. (We recommend checking your state and/or municipality’s website for the most up-to-date guidelines).

Step 2: Use these SSS Cover Letter and SSS Proclamation templates. The SSS Cover Letter outlines your request, including associated dates and information about Narcolepsy and Narcolepsy Network. The SSS Proclamation template provides standard language for the official proclamation.

Step 3: Once you have submitted your request, let us know by emailing Elizabeth Dickson at [email protected].

Step 4: If your proclamation is granted, let us know as soon as possible by emailing Elizabeth so we can count your state or municipality among those that have issued proclamations. You might also like to:

  • Send us photo of you with your proclamation so we can post on our social media pages to celebrate your accomplishment!
  • Also share your photo on your social media pages, tagging Narcolepsy Network as well as the official who approved your proclamation. (IG: @narcolepsynetwork, FB: @NarcolepsyNetwork, X: @NarcolepsyNtwrk, & LinkedIn: @narcolepsy-network).

How to Spread Awareness for Suddenly Sleepy Saturday:

Whether your proclamation is granted or not, it’s time to spread the word and generate awareness of Narcolepsy and Narcolepsy Network!
