Suddenly Sleepy Saturday 2024

Help Raise Awareness for Narcolepsy this Suddenly Sleepy Saturday!
Suddenly Sleepy Saturday, also known as SSS, will take place on March 9, 2024. Narcolepsy Network encourages members and supporters to get involved by requesting a proclamation from your state and/or city recognizing Suddenly Sleepy Saturday as a day for narcolepsy awareness.
Last year, 75 proclamations from state and city municipalities were made and 49 were granted. Let’s surpass this number this year!
Proclamations are requested through your governor and/or mayor’s office. Some offices respond very quickly, while others require 2+ months to process requests—don’t delay in submitting your request!
Get Started!
1. Use this document to locate your state, city, or county’s guidelines for requesting a proclamation. (But check your state’s website for the most up-to-date guidelines).
2. Download the SSS Sample Proclamation and SSS Cover Letter. Copy and paste the language to submit your request according to your state and/or city’s guidelines.
3. Once you have submitted your request, email us at [email protected] to let us know.
4. If your request is granted, spread the word via social media, and alert your local media using our proclamation news release template. Be sure to email us at [email protected] again (and tag us on social media) so we can count your state among those that have issued proclamations.
Together, we can bring narcolepsy awareness to all 50 states in 2024!
Please note: proclamations must be requested each year, so if you made a proclamation last year, it does not transfer to the next year.
