Run for #TeamNarcolepsy
Have you ever wanted to run a marathon? Do you have narcolepsy, or know someone who does? Have you always wanted to do something big to support the narcolepsy community? Well, we have an opportunity for you, in the biggest marathon in the world – the New York City Marathon!
Run the Big Apple
Run the streets of New York’s five boroughs in November with Keith Harper and #TeamNarcolepsy. It’s an exhilarating adventure through the city, and there are millions of people lining the course to cheer you on. You can run by yourself, or run with the team in our snazzy blue #TeamNarcolepsy shirts. New York is the biggest marathon in the world, and the race is a blast from start to finish.
Raise money for Narcolepsy Network
It’s easy to join our online campaign and raise funds for Narcolepsy Network. After you have qualified for the race, send an email to [email protected] and we’ll get you set up with your shirt and campaign access.
How do I gain entry to the race?
There are a few options to gain entry to the New York Marathon. For mere mortals who live in the New York area, there is the NYRR 9+1 Program. For elite runners, there is the option to qualify based on time. And for everyone else, there is a lottery you can apply for.
NYRR 9+1
If you live in the New York area, participating in the New York Road Runners (NYRR) 9+1 Program will earn you a guaranteed spot in next year’s New York Marathon, the biggest in the world! Run 9 races and volunteer for 1 this year, and you will gain entry into the following year’s race. It’s a great way to participate. By supporting NYRR you’re also supporting running clubs for kids not only in the city but around the world.
Qualifying Time
If you happen to be one of those amazing people who can run fast enough to qualify for the race, pat yourself on the back and head over to http://www.tcsnycmarathon.org/ to find out how to apply.
Why should I punish myself like this?
What makes New York an amazing experience is the energy of the people who line the streets cheering you on. People will yell your name, they will bring you bananas and oranges, they will sing to you, and they will give you the boost you need to finish the biggest marathon in the world. Everyone who comes out to support the runners deserves their own medal!
Can I support #TeamNarcolepsy even if I’m not running?
Of course! Follow Narcolepsy Network on Twitter, Facebook, via email, or become a member today and stay up-to-date with the marathon and all of our other programs.
