This survey sought to understand people living with narcolepsy type 1 in order to understand the experiences of people living with Narcolepsy Type 1 with treatment and the related burdens of the disorder. Dr. Thorpy will discuss the findings and the scientific evidence that demonstrates the need to develop new treatments.

Michael J. Thorpy, MD is a Professor of Neurology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Director of the Sleep-Wake Disorders Center in the Department of Neurology at Montefiore Medical Center, both in New York. In addition to treating patients with sleep disorders, he conducts research in narcolepsy, insomnia and sleep apnea.
