Romeo Espana
Romeo Espana is a U.S. Navy veteran who joined Narcolepsy Network in 2011 after his diagnosis in 2008. Despite having all associated symptoms of Narcolepsy with Cataplexy, he has managed to fulfill his dreams of being a husband, father and an engineer.
Romeo attended the 2014 NN conference in Denver as a volunteer assisting the professional conference videographer and tech support. He lives in Dallas, TX with his wife Brianna, who has Idiopathic Hypersomnia, and their 3 boys, ages 9, 7, and 3. Both are devoted to raising awareness and support for their fellow PWN’s and PWIH’ers.
Romeo has accomplished much since his initial diagnoses. Romeo is an active member of the Dallas Makerspace, is a hardware engineer at Dialexa, a co-founder and organizer at North Texas Drone User Group, and an engineer at Skylvl. He currently focuses on the development, construction, and deployment of low cost Unmanned Aerial Vehicle platforms for civilian applications. His specialties include systems integration, advanced electronics repair and design, hardware development, unmanned robotics, remote telemetry systems, and remote systems training. His main focus is on the beneficial uses for drones, including firefighting, search and rescue and re-enabling older or handicapped people.
