Jan 30, 2024 Lifestyle Webinar: How to start and run a peer-led support group

January 10th, 2024

Peer-led Support Groups help others feel understood, not alone.

At our 2023 Annual Conference in Denver, we hosted a workshop for those interested in starting local support groups. Now, we would like to share our tips with a wider audience on Zoom!

Join us for the 2024 kick-off of our Lifestyle Webinar program series on Tuesday, January 30th at 7pm ET/4pm PT. The first workshop in this series is “How to start and run a peer-led support group”.

You will learn how to develop a purpose and a program, publicize your group, and develop strategies for running your support group. Keith Harper, our Board President, is one of our longtime affiliate support group leaders in NYC. You might say he is a rebel with a cause to motivate others to support one another.

This will be a very interactive workshop, so please bring your questions!

Presenter:

Keith will share tips and tools and answer questions. Keith is a passionate advocate for our community and facilitates our weekly online support group for People with Narcolepsy and Idiopathic Hypersomnia. He has first-hand experience on how valuable community support is to provide connection and empathy.

Facilitator:

Our Transition Director, Amy Kant, will moderate the workshop. Amy has over 30 years experience working within advocacy, healthcare, and community organizations. She is passionate about serving Narcolepsy Network and providing essential tools for support, education, and advocacy.
