It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. William C. Dement. Dr. Dement was considered a pioneer in the field of Sleep Medicine and was instrumental in the founding of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the Sleep Research Center at Stanford University.

Dr. Dement authored many books and articles and was known as one of the founding fathers of sleep medicine.
