A New Program that Connects Children with Narcolepsy

July 1st, 2020

We have established a new program that connects children with narcolepsy! Children, ages 8-13, who have been diagnosed with narcolepsy and their parent, are invited to join us virtually for a time of support, caring, and fun.

During the one-hour interactive support group gathering, children will have the opportunity to:

  • “Ask Me Anything” questions for a sleep specialist.
  • Ask questions to our Narcolepsy Network Youth Ambassadors about attending school with narcolepsy, playing sports, social involvement, and just about anything.
  • Meet new friends with narcolepsy while playing games.
  • Bring a fun fact about yourself to share with your new friends.

The meeting is FREE, no membership is required. Both parent and child must be available visually and audibly during the one-hour virtual support gathering. Please note: this meeting is for children with narcolepsy to interact and participate.

For more information and to register, email [email protected]. A “Think Inside the Box” gift is included for participating and will be mailed after the meeting. The box is not required to join in the CONNECT meeting.

We will be using the Zoom platform to host this meeting. Save time and create your free Zoom account today! Please note Zoom is not a confidential platform and is not HIPAA compliant. Any disclosure of personal information may be revealed to others in the group, including those not logged into the program. We expect everyone to respect the confidentiality of other attendees and what is shared. By choosing to attend the meeting, you are consenting to participation.

CONNECT gathering will not be recorded and will be a live Zoom meeting. Please be sure visual and audio are functioning prior to meeting start time with no outside distractions so that all attendees will enjoy this opportunity to its fullest extent.

Parents, please refrain from describing and sharing your child’s personal situation. Our intent is to encourage communication between children and to become comfortable speaking to others who have narcolepsy and asking the questions they need to ask in order to help themselves thrive.

CONNECT is paid for by a generous grant from Harmony Biosciences. You do not need to be a member of Narcolepsy Network to join this meeting.
