Youth Ambassador Pilot Program

August 25th, 2021

The Youth Ambassador (YA) Program is a national program designed to train promising young members of Narcolepsy Network to advocate for people with narcolepsy. Youth Ambassadors learn how to be leaders and representatives of NN all while building friendships to last a lifetime. This training typically coincides with our in-person Annual Conference.

Since this year’s annual conference will be virtual, we are using this opportunity to try out a new YA Pilot Program. Over the last year, we were able to interact with many young adults in our virtual workshops and came to the conclusion that the greatest need at the moment for young people with narcolepsy is to be able to meet each other and learn how to advocate for themselves in a variety of settings. So for this year, we are focusing on self-advocacy in a session that will be available to a wider group. It will be open to people with narcolepsy, ages 14-22. Next year, we are hoping to have a wider array of YA offerings. To learn more about the Youth Ambassador Program go here.

Youth Ambassador Pilot Program
Learn to Tell Your Story
Date TBA

Join us and meet other young people with narcolepsy who understand you. This Youth Ambassador Pilot Program is about self-advocacy. Learn to tell your story so others can understand what it’s like to live with narcolepsy and to get the support and understanding you need. Trying to explain to a friend how they can help you with your cataplexy is different than talking to your school about accommodations. Our Youth Ambassadors will teach you how to adjust your story to make those around you understand how they can help you thrive.
