Suddenly Sleepy Saturday brought narcolepsy awareness to all corners of the U.S. and around the world
March 7, 2015 was Suddenly Sleepy Saturday, a day for narcolepsy awareness, and supporters across the U.S. and around the world are working hard to make the day a success.
Last year, supporters in 47 U.S. states requested official proclamations which recognized the 7th as Suddenly Sleepy Saturday. Governors of 30 states approved the request and issued proclamations, so did mayors in six U.S. cities plus two in Canada. Supporters down under also requested a proclamation in the state of South Australia! See the map at right to learn where proclamations were requested and granted. And thank you to everyone who made requests!
Other Suddenly Sleepy Saturday events included the annual Narcolepsy Bed Race in Roanoke, VA, a pajama party in West Virginia, a party in Ireland and a variety of support group meetings. And on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, our Suddenly Sleepy Saturday artwork and Narcolepsy facts were shared hundreds of times.
