Welcome to the Narcolepsy Network

National Sleep Awareness Week® March 3 - 9, 2008

Through membership in the National Sleep Awareness Roundtable, Narcolepsy Network is proud to partner with the National Sleep Foundation (NSF) and other sleep-related organizations to promote public awareness of narcolepsy, the importance of healthy sleep and the prevalence and consequences to individuals and society of undiagnosed sleep disorders.

What can you do to promote Narcolepsy Awareness in your community?
1. Ask your local radio station(s) to air our 30- and 60-second Public Service Announcements (PSAs) during National Sleep Awareness Week and especially on March 8, 2008.

2. Ask your state and/or local government to proclaim March 8, 2008 (or another date) 'Suddenly Sleepy Saturday - A Day of Narcolepsy Awareness'.

3. Design your own Narcolepsy Awareness activity. Email us at narnet@narcolepsynetwork.org for assistance in planning your activity.
  • Place Narcolepsy brochures in local sleep doctors' offices (primary care physicians, pediatricians and sleep specialists), schools (nurses, guidance counselors), and your public library;
  • Conduct a Sleepiness Screening at a local health fair;
  • Provide copies of the Epworth Sleepiness Scale questionnaire at your workplace;
  • Present on narcolepsy to students and/or teachers, your PTA assocation, community service organization or at your public library
  • Host a fundraiser for the benefit of narcolepsy awareness and/or research
