This is my first time posting & I first have to say that for most of my life, I felt so alone or that I was crazy & this website is such a huge help for me. I was diagnosed with N @ the age 40 & once that happened, everything made sense in regards to the struggles I've dealt with through the years. Having said that, I am currently taking Xyrem & I feel like a totally different person & it has honestly been a miracle drug for me. I have found that I still need a boost during the day even though the need is NOTHING like it used to be. My issue(s) are this: I am currently unemployed with no insurance. I've tried Ritalin & Adderral & I felt rather irritable on those. I had success w/Vyvanse however, its too expensive & they turned me down for patient assistance since it was prescribed for N instead of adhd. Has anyone dealt with this or can anyone make any suggestions? I've come so far & am now getting frustrated by this! Thank you in advance!

I wish I had a decent reply.
I was 36 when I was DX-felt like a loser.
But this DX and Provigil help me lead a more productive life, even though I am still very sleepy and exhausted most of the time.
If you go on disability there may be a way to get assistance with your RXs .
I am not sure...However soon I will be facing the same thing as my job offers no benefits ans I am getting a divorce and will loose my current benefits.
Good luck-let me know how it goes

I know you have already tried Adderall, but with you now taking the Xyrem at night and using the Adderall just as a 'Booster Shot' once a day, you might have better luck with it. It is fairly inexpensive, with or without insurance. Just a suggestion, hope things work out.
