Hi, I'm new here and looking for advice. My Sleep Neurologist (who is fabulous) is reasonably sure that I have N w/ C and wants to put me on Xyrem but he needs conclusive results on the PSG and MSLT. Without medications I am unlikely to fall asleep before 4AM about 95% of the time. Sometimes I never fall asleep at night! I'm one of those worry warts that stresses out over having any kind of medical tests. I know that all I have to do is go to sleep and nothing will hurt. I'm getting irrationally anxious and I'm worried that I will not be able to go to sleep knowing that I have to and that I'm being monitored. I feel like I'll be able to fall asleep during the MSLT if I can relax as I do my best sleeping during the day because of the EDS. I surely will not fall asleep if I'm a nervous wreck! Can anyone who has been through the studies give me some advice on making sure I can sleep and get the best study possible to get a definitive diagnosis? I've been misdiagnosed and mistreated for so long that I need this to work. I'm doing my best to not take any naps or have any caffeine so I can sleep more at night but everyone knows how hard that is and of course no meds from now until the study which is scheduled for 6/12 (next Tuesday). Thanks.
