Post what sports you play, and how you manage everything to make it work, and the habbits you have before your sport ( nap, meds, etc )

Quit my job as a Personal Trainer because the N makes it too impossible to drive and there is little public transportation where I live AND I've adapted. I now bike and row on a daily basis. My trick, I do it indoors on a combination recumbent bike/rower. Just today I biked for only 10 minutes before I got overwhelmingly tired from a arduous work day. I just had to lay down and didn't have the energy to go two flight upstairs so I hopped off and napped for twenty minutes on the cement floor before biking for an hour and rowing for fifteen minutes. Believe or not it was fairly comfortable. Also, I've adapted the time I work out. Though I love to work out in the AM it would really wear me out during my work day making it nearly impossible to get through (I have Fibro, too) AND I don't want to exercise too late so as soon as I walk in the door I bike, row, or do pilates. I've had to give up all weight bearing activities due to extensive podiatric problems AND I've managed to get around that too! Yay team!!
Alot of sacrifices, glad you still bike and row though, i've ALWAYS wanted to row!!!! Sounds awesome! Have you had N & C for a while? I got N & a little C when i was 17 probably, and i was playing high level volleyball, got diagnosed like 5 months ago. I'm on Nuvigil, and take it almost everyday. I am able to surprisingly still play pretty much at the same level. I guess everyones case is diffrent? aslong as i get a solid nap before a practice or workout and am on nuvigil with a good good night sleeps i feel pretty good, minus occasionally C feelings through my body, you know when you tense up your legs to cope with the C? that kinda annoying feeling, and a little bit of eye twitches. So i suppose i am lucky, and found a good pattern. I feel staying active and staying in shape is just a win win win for the body. A person who becomes active with N & moderate c will only have an improvement in symptoms. That is what i think. Have you tryed Xyrem? i heard over time it can change your life so much for the better! I will be trying it soon.
** Mindset, Mental Toughness, Correct Combo of Meds, Good Habbits, Good Diet, Understanding your limits, Active-Active lifestyle, Knowledge & a little support = SUPRiSING SUCCESS!!!!! I'm gonna continue doing my hobbies, Beach Volleyball, Indoor Volleyball, DJ'ing, Traveling, Working Out, Hanging Out, Socializing, ETC ETC. And you and other suffers should try to get back into what you wanna do too!, Some may need more downtime/rest/meds/habbits then others, some may need less! Its all about that 1 comboination that suits you! Let me know how everything goes for you! And btw. I have drive right now, but only rarely with *BEEP*ty sleep i have spaced out from heavy fatigue before and only once or twice have it swerved on a small country road for a quick second of the road but readjusted quick when i heard the noise! luckily not driving far! Moving to FT Lauderdale become this next year and no car will be needed there, just a longboard. so, i will step away from driving sooner then later! But depending on the siuation (mainly sleep the night before) if after a hard workout with *BEEP*ty sleep, i feel like i just want to laydown quick haha. Sorry for the somewhat life story, went on a rant here! haha. IF YOU HAVE ANY COMMENTS OR SUGGESTIONS OR ANYTHING FOR ME LET ME KNOW!! you can email me at Austeenob@aol.com .... also if you have any questions? even though i'm new to it, i have down so so so so so much research on the big picture i might be able to help. GOodluck!!

I play competitive rugby and football. Some of the adjustments I've made include things like taking a nap before practices and games; adjusting my med schedule on game day; and taking a knee when I need it during a game or practice, especially when I've been experiencing a lot of cataplexy episodes.
excellent! beach/indoor volleyball player here! kinda like the cataplexy feeling to where you cope with it and tighten up your body, mainly legs/hamstrings? I know that feeling to well! not diabilitating as much as it is bothersome! But yeah planned naps are essential goodluck!!!!

I down hill ski. It seems that if you enjoy something enough it keeps you awake. I tend to ski fast but haven't fallen in years. I do tend to fall asleep as soon as I stop. Sometimes at lunch or in the parking lot before driving home.
yep yep, volleyball here. deffinitely though when enjoying something you will be awake, but its all about getting good sleep or taking little naps before sport activity / know something is going to happen kinda thing! Ocassionally i get that feeling too! to where your just beat and need a nap after a tough tough workout! usually a nap before hand eliminates that!!! goodluck!!!!!
