Has anybody here ever experienced this? Sometimes, when I am really sleepy, but I'm not where I can lay down to rest/nap (IE: work), fighting the urge to sleep will result in my heart beating harder and faster, like almost as if I was at a moderate jog. It usually also comes with a fatigue headache. Is this normal?

You should have that checked, they can put a 24hr heart monitor on you so your Dr can see what's going on. You don't want to mess around with your heart. I get a lot of headaches and I think I know the ones your talking about. If I'm struggling to stay awake about 70% of the time I will end up with a headache.
