Hi,

Although I covered this in another post, I am now thinking that I should be more direct in saying this. First I should say that although I am not a doctor, I have had N for 38 years and seem to know more about stimulants than any doctor I have come across.

Basically I want you to realize that Ritilin is so bad that it is barely worth taking. It has such bad side effects that it makes you so sick that you can not function anywhere near "normal". IMHO docs only write it because they do not know any better or feel they cannot trust you with anything better and thus more subject to abuse, or they are more worried about their reputation than how they treat you.

I sum it up that Adderall is better than rititlin, Dextroamphetamine is better than Adderall, and Desoxyn (methamphetamine) is better than dextroamphetamine.

Many doctors are reluctant to prescribe Desoxyn because they are afraid you will abuse it, or they will be labeled a "speed doctor". Nonetheless, it is the best drug in it's class and unless you have and abusive personality/history, it is the best drug for YOU.

Thus I strongly suggest you get your doctor to prescribe it. If they still are reluctant, then suggest an agreement such as I described in my other post.

BTW.... Desoxyn used to be the drug of choice for N until it became a popular street drug and therefore politically incorrect to prescribe.

I have heard the same. A lot of information on healthboards.com pretty much summed up almost everybody with Narcolepsy hated Provigil and Ritalin, Adderall was their top choice. As for the other two, I haven't seen anything relating to those.
