My mood takes a dive before a severe episode of cataplexy; I get real depressed and moody for no reason. Then my torso starts to tight up and my muscles in my extremities feel weak; then I go limp allover. Does anyone else go thru something like that?

I'm told I get moody sometimes before a long sleep attack, I have certainly seen it in a friend of mine who has N with C. He has typical cataplexy as well as atypical cataplexy. Sometimes he gets grumpy, childish, fuzzy brained, he doesn't realize he's not thinking straight, his face looks distant and his voice gets quieter and than BAM he collapses instantly and completely and he goes from cataplexy into a deep narcoleptic sleep for 20 min. He's unwakable and completely unresponsive and he takes quite a few minutes to be able to move even after he starts to wake. Usually he can't remember 2-15 min. of what happened before he went down. I think it's because he goes into a hypagogonic/autonomic behavioral state before that type of cataplexy reaction.

Great feedback. I was wondering if I was the only one who had a mood shift before an episode. A friend of mine also told me that I change colors. She says I turn a grayish color. Weird huh?
