I AM A 26 YEAR OLD WHO WENT TO COLLEGE IN 1999, AND WHILE IN COLLEGE I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NARCOLEPSY, BUT BECAUSE OF MY SLEEPINESS MY GRADES FELL BEHIND AND I WAS FALLING ASLEEP IN MY CLASSES AND I WAS SENT HOME FROM COLLEGE. NOW I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING MY LOANS OFF FOR A SCHOOL THAT I ATTENDED, BUT HAD TO LEAVE DUE TO NARCOLEPSY. DOES ANYBODY KNOW OF A WAY TO GET AROUND THE REPAYMENT IS THERE SUCH THING AS A MEDICAL EXCEPTION?
JUST WONDERING

So far as I know, you are responsible for paying your school loans. My son (diagnosed during his last year of college, at age 22) came out with nearly 50K in loans, and at age 29 is still living with us because his perscription costs and school loans make it impossible for him to live independantly. He does work a full time job, and lives his life as normally as possible, but until his loans are paid off he will need to continue to live at home. I wish I had better news for you.

If students are enrolled in college classes, they don't have to pay toward their loans. Is it possible to take some classes so you don't have to pay the loans right now?
