Ok. For any BSG fans out there, I just learned that the theme to the (realtively) new BSG series is a take on the Gayatri Mantra by Deva Premal. The same words! No kidding. She did not write it but composes conteporary versions of older mantras. Edward James Olmos handed this song out to all cast members during the filming of the mini series. It is the HEART of the BSG series. Please check it out. [/cry] This totally blows my mind. I always felt connected to this song, but to look up its meaning...it totally blows my mind.

What I was trying to say last night, that didn't come out right, was that the last word of the mantra is a vague word that has many meanings, one of which looked like 'wake me up', so I was thinking we could all chant this with the meaning "Dear God...please wake me the hell up!" It seemed like a good N mantra at the time, anyway. hehe
