First a quick hello...it's nice to see a network of people that I can bounce questions off of. I never meet people in my daily life who have any understanding of sleep disorders.
So now to the question...
My doctor prescribed Provigil for me (200mg) and it works very well thus far. I have much less trouble driving and I haven't had to explain to my new boss why he caught me drooling into my computer yet (that is a sucky conversation). The only issue is that it is REALLY expensive. I am very lucky in that I work in an industry that has insanely good health coverage, so I essentially pay for nothing. A friend of mine, however, is not so lucky. I decided to work the contact tree and make some calls (I have several friends and family members in government and in positions of access in the healthcare industry) to see what may be available and I was told by a medical professional that SOME of the online pharmacies that sell non-US packagings of modafinil are completely legit. I found one such group (I believe in Mexico) that will sell me 100 200mg pills branded Modalert for $100!
Has anyone had any experience buying modafinil online or with any of the non-provigil versions?
Any advice or information would be great.
Thanks

Hi,
firstly, I'm not in the US, so my understanding of exactly what is required for you to import drugs legitimately is not based on personal experience. But I posted something yesterday that I think might be helpful: http://narcolepsynet...?showtopic=2060
When I last bought some in April, 100x200mg tabs (Modalert - from India) cost USD$103 (free shipping) and they only charged me what they quoted. Plus my credit card hasn't had any "odd" charges on it. So I suppose that's about as good as you can get buying over the net.
I've also bought modafinil powder from http://bulk.airseale...d_modafinil.cfm before I found the one above. The stuff arrived and it was indeed modafinil, but they definitely cater to the "illegal" market. Despite me e-mailing them a copy of my script (a requirement for importing the drug here in AU), they "forgot" to put it in the order. So what turned up was an package from Bosnia with a bag of 30g of white powder in it, with a declaration on the outside which said "cosmetic base additive". So when the package was overdue I started to follow the paper trail until I finally found out that our Customs dept had it. They'd tested it to see if it was amphetamines or opiates or steroids - all negative. And had just got it back from another dept that confirmed it was modafinil. They were mildly upset, as the sender clearly intended to deceive the authorities here. I showed them my e-mail & script & they let me have it but suggested I find somewhere else to buy it from in future, as they are entitled to destroy it when someone has tried to deceive them like that.
I just had a look at their site - current price is USD$60 for 10g powder = 50x200mg tabs. Plus they charge shipping and plus I got hit for another $50 in "inter-bank" transfer fees, albeit those might not apply to you - depends on whether you have access to one of their payment methods. So all in all, I'd mark them as plan "m", just above plan "n" - robbing a local drug store...
Conversely, Inhouse (from my other post) clearly labelled it as modafinil & enclosed my script in the packet. So although I could see it had been opened by Customs, they never even contacted me. The package just turned up.
Good Luck..!
