I take atenolol to prevent supraventricular tachycardia. I have not had a rapid heartbeat since being prescribed atenolol. My sleep doctor who is a pulmonologist prescribed me Ritilin for my narcolepsy. My family doctor told me that taking Ritilin could kill me. I am lost...what do I do? Which doctor should I believe? I need to stay awake during the day.

I would make sure the two talked with each other. Your regular physician probably has a much longer history with you than the sleep doctor. He may know something that isn't in your chart. On the other hand, the sleep doctor would have much more experience with the medicine, so he may know something.
Make sure you get the two to talk so they are both on the same page.
