i was wonderin im on adderall for i think narcolepsy. i don't really feel like the adderall is doing much at all. and i was wonderin if i would respond better to xyrem, thing is it is i take 0.5mg of xanax for a panic disorder, wich i rarely take because it knocks me out for the entire day and ruins what little of a day i have. it is my understanding that xanax is a cns depressant and so is xyrem. so i think Xyrem would have the affect of xanax just worse wich in turn defnitly would'nt work for me. not realy sure how they work only thing i can see diferent from the two is xanax is a benzo.

What Xyrem will do is multiply the effect of your other drugs, particularly the benzo, by 4 times. So if you did go on it, you'd want to decrease that does or at least hope your doc knew to do that. From what I understand, Xyrem treats cataplexy more than sleepiness, but can help with that too over the long run. I haven't taken it myself, but had a friend that did, and my doc says I shouldn't take it because it has undesirable side effects. Since I have body convulsions on occasions with my cataplexy, he's concerned, eventhough it's definitely not epilepsy. Has anyone here had bad side effects from Xyrem? If so, what were they?
