My doctor has suggested that I try Xyrem for my N. I also have sleep apnea & was wondering if anyone else has both that have tried it. From what I have read it wasn't safe to use in people with breathing problems. Can anyone give me any feedback on this? Thank you.

Do you use a CPAP machine? I too have heard that Xyrem can repress breathing, in some cases. I cannot say if it will affect you. Have you asked your doctor about this worry yet?

I have just been diagnosed with N. and also have sleep apnea. I do use a CPAP machine. I have not started on the medication yet but I am waiting for it to arrive. I am a little apprehensive about taking it mainly because I am also diagnosed with depression and bi-polar and take other medications for this.
