does anyone take both? I'm thinking of talking to my dr about it but don't want to be always on "drugs". The adderall helps somewhat during the day but I sleep horribly at night (I wake up atleast 8-10 times a night).

If you have cataplexy with N, maybe you should talk to your doctor about taking Xyrem.

I take Provigil and Xyrem. My sleep patterns were a lot like yours, that is if I could sleep. Now the Xyrem takes care of that. It might be worth it to talk to youd Doc about Xyrem, just make sure you're well informed about it.

Xyrem takes pretty good care of how tired I m during the day, and I've cut back on my provigil. But it's different with everyone, of course.

I can't take xyrem. I tried it about a year ago and experienced unusual and very unpleasant side effects. Oh, and I don't have C.

Gladtoknow,

Can you send me a PM with your Xyrem side effects, I had a really crazy reaction myself...maybe I'm not alone.

I take Xyem, sorry it didn't work for you. I do have bad cataplexy, though. Several times I have run out, but have a hard time falling to sleep, so I know this is unorthodox, but a beer or two plus a few Telenol PM help me sleep OK. Not as good as Xyrem, but this alernative is only when I have no Xyrem.

Gladtoknow, Why don't you try energy drinks that have caffine like Powerade or Gaterade? They help me.

I haven't tried Red Bull or any of those, but regular caffeinated beverages don't really do much for me.

I work full time and have a hard time sleeping during lunch because I'm always "aware" of what's going on around me and also afraid I will wake up late (I can't nap for just a few minutes.) And I'm a single mom so napping on the weekends can be a bit of a challenge as well.
