Hi all,
Since I don't drink coffee, it never agreed with me. I was used to being helped by the old Vivarin (changed since early or mid 90's) and now...the oldest that I know of over the counter, ..No-Doz.
I, at one time, thought it so inferior to V, but now that it has been changed, I realize daily that it did help some.
The very little it helped is sorely missed. Guess the two companies that purchased and changed these two life lines do not need my business.
Thanks
Anone one else helped by old Vivarin and now, th old No-Doz?

Hi - I still use Vivarin on occasion for an extra boost - they still sell it in the Chicago area.

Vivarin and NoDoz are both caffeine tablets. I, too, can take a caffeine tablet (200 mg. tabs) and feel alert, but most coffee upsets my stomach.
You can get generic 200 mg. caffeine tablets (same as No-Doz or Vivarin) over-the-counter at your friendly neighborhood chain drug store (or, probably, Wal-Mart). Ask the pharmacist where to find them.

These sleep aids only work once in a while and I have found that if you take them repeatedly they offer the opposite reaction - sleep - which is NOT what you want.
I have also tried B-12 vitamins which help a little bit, but you have to keep increasing the dosage and that isn't any good either. Face it you have to have prescription medication eventhough it is very expensive.
