Golfer Nicole Jeray’s birdies benefit narcolepsy as “Swinging for Sleep” raises more than $35,000
Narcolepsy Network thanks LPGA golfer Nicole Jeray for her Swinging for Sleep campaign, which raised more than $35,000 in 2012. Through the campaign, Jazz Pharmaceuticals and individual sponsors made a donation for each of Nicole’s 121 birdies on this year’s LPGA/LPGA Futures tours. Proceeds were shared between Narcolepsy Network, the oldest narcolepsy patient support organization in the U.S., and Wake Up Narcolepsy a nonprofit advancing narcolepsy awareness and treatment.
“Narcolepsy is a neurological sleep disorder that often takes years to properly diagnose,†says Jeray, who has the disorder. “Having battled this challenging condition for years, I understand first-hand the impact of the disease and how important it is to help others navigate living with it.”
“Nicole is such an inspiring person, on and off the golf course,†says Eveline Honig, MD, Narcolepsy Network’s executive director. “We are so fortunate that she is willing to share both her talent and her experiences as a person with narcolepsy to raise money and awareness for our organizations.â€
