ABC NightlinePrime and Narcolepsy

“Thursday, August 19: “NightlinePrime” co-anchor Cynthia McFadden explores the brain in love.  She follows a remarkable story of love lost and found again after a traumatic brain injury. McFadden also talks to a man who is literally paralyzed by love—a peculiar brain condition that causes his body to shut down when he experiences feelings of love for his wife.”

The man with the “peculiar brain condition” (Narcolepsy with Cataplexy) is Neuroscience Researcher Matthew Frerking and his wife Patricia who works in Public Health Policy.  They recently spent a weekend being followed by a Nightline camera crew and being interviewed by reporters.

You can read more about it on Patricia Frerking’s blog, Check your local listings for airtimes for NightlinePrime.
